About Me
I’m Mitch Lenington, a local certified arborist with a deep-rooted passion for the outdoors. Growing up in Mississippi, my mother instilled in me an appreciation for nature that eventually led me to some of the most rugged landscapes in the country. Before I ever picked up a chainsaw professionally, I tested my limits by thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail, the Pacific Crest Trail, and the Continental Divide Trail. Those thousands of miles on the trail solidified my respect for ecosystems and the effort required to care for them. To pair that real world grit with formal expertise, I earned my degree in Forestry from Jones Community College.

From Wildland Firefighting to Your Backyard:
After relocating to Utah in 2020, I spent two years as a wildland firefighter before transitioning into residential tree care. I rose through the ranks to become a Services Manager at a large company, where I managed operations and trained the next generation of arborists.

Why I Started This Company:
While climbing the corporate ladder, I noticed a shift I didn't like. The bigger the company got, the less personal the service became. I saw how a focus on "growth at all costs" led to strained crews and, ultimately, poorer care for the trees themselves.

I started my own business to get back to what matters: Personalized, high-quality tree care at a fair price. When you hire me, you aren’t just another line item on a corporate spreadsheet, you’re getting the expertise of a certified arborist who truly cares about the health of your landscape.

My Services

Structural Pruning
Responsible Removal
Tree Planting
Arborist Consultation
This is my core area of expertise and the main emphasis of my work. True tree care isn’t just about trimming foliage; it’s about understanding the tree's anatomy and planning for its long-term stability. Structural pruning is the process of guiding a tree's development by strategically managing its branch architecture. I specialize in identifying potential structural flaws (weak unions, over extended branches, and co-dominant stems) and correcting them before they become dangerous hazards.
While I prioritize tree health, sometimes a removal is necessary for safety or property goals. Whether it’s a technical dismantle in a tight spot or a controlled felling in an open area, I bring the precision of a certified arborist to your doorstep without the overhead cost of the big companies.
Proper planting is the most critical moment in a tree’s life. Most "professional" plantings fail years later because of poor nursery selection or improper technique. As a certified arborist, I plant according to ANSI A300 standards, ensuring your investment doesn't just survive, but thrives for decades.
If you aren't sure whether a tree needs to be pruned, removed, or simply left alone, a consultation is the best place to start. I provide honest, expert assessments based on my background in arboriculture and maintenance of the urban forest. My goal isn't to sell you a service you don't need; it's to provide you with a clear understanding of the health and safety of your trees.
